The Wyoming Office of Tourism, in collaboration with the Great American West (GAW) consortium, conducted a week-long sales mission in the United Kingdom and France to promote travel destinations across the region. The mission included in-office training for product managers, tour operators and travel agents, as well as workshop-style events with media professionals, generating 55 qualified leads for future product development. A western-themed networking event in London, attended by over 50 targeted media and trade contacts, highlighted Wyoming's and the region's unique offerings. Insights revealed that booking windows range from 4 months to a year, with itineraries averaging 14 days. Popular interests include national parks, western heritage, outdoor recreation, scenic drives and winter experiences. Trade partners emphasized the region’s diversity and requested multi-state itineraries, visual assets, activity guides and event details. There are some great upcoming opportunities focused around the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Jim Wollenburg, Global Partnerships Sr. Manager, started the year with two international sales shows.
2025 had a busy start, with Go West Summit and a Brand USA Sales Mission kicking off the year. First, Jim attended Go West Summit where he met with 37 highly vetted international buyers and discussed Wyoming tourism product, itineraries and market happenings. Then, it was off to Mexico where, in three cities, he was met with more than 75 tourism companies in the Mexico market and presented to more than 300 travel agents and sales agents.
These sales missions offer face-to-face interaction with interested international buyers, educating them on Wyoming tourism and building lasting relationships. .
WOT is collaborating with the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and various Wyoming stakeholders to help shape the WYDOT 2050 Wyoming Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). This plan will focus on the next 25 years, addressing the transportation needs of both residents and visitors. It’s a valuable opportunity for the tourism industry to influence policies that will create lasting, positive effects on Wyoming’s transportation system, supporting the state's visitor economy for years to come. WOT appreciates the close relationship and partnership with WYDOT throughout the years and looks forward to working together with Wyoming stakeholders on this LRTP.
As the plan looks 25 years into the future, it’s crucial to recognize opportunities that can enhance the Wyoming visitor experience. The LRTP provides Wyoming tourism partners a platform to voice their ideas and share initiatives that can be implemented statewide to ensure transportation evolves alongside the tourism industry. The plan will also establish key performance targets needed to build and sustain an efficient, responsive transportation system.
The LRTP has a website available for you to check out FAQs, surveys and to provide public comment. There will be a series of online public meetings which will be advertised on this website as well.
